Damned, you folks really don't have a clue do you? This is amazing. I've heard of people who live in "bubbles" cut off from small town America, but I never knew it was like this.

This is awesome. Not only do we start our full staff meetings with a prayer and pledge. We do the same for every event at our National Convention. Last year we drew over 55K for the 3 day event.

That's not strange but opening staff meetings with the pledge is, at the very least, unusual.

Finally someone who is able to articulate what they wanted to say without calling me a liar. Thanks.....and BTW, I can understand to many it would seem strange.

You are right about the bubble, your detractors can't see past the end of their nose.

You sound like a pussy who got his panties wrinkled bc someone is using his constitutional freedom of expression.

Good grief, this has nothing to do with expressing Constitutional freedoms. Yet again, the dumbass in the room has to be corrected on fundamental 1st Amendment lack of knowledge. This is an employment issue. If he wants to be a smug arse and express himself, he can face the consequences of potentially getting fired. Besides, if it were a white dude who unfurled a Confederate flag and said a pledge to it, you wouldn't be defending him even though he would have been expressing himself just like the dude parked in the chair, you'd agree his arse should be fired for his expression. You're lying if you say otherwise.

Not you and I appreciate that. But others in this thread have, which is astounding to me that folks live in that type of isolation and can't fathom that there are still companies in this country that do this type of thing.

Don't worry about it, man. I believe you. These libs' heads would explode if I told them every government meeting in Texas I've been to in my life started with a prayer and anthem.
Pretty sure you meant the Pledge there, right? Anthem would be kinda strange for a govt. meeting... even in Texas.

Nah they can always bring in Mariah Carey to do a rousing lip sync before they settle in to talk about their TPS reports.

The red on that inanimate object represents blood shed by Americans, so that you have the freedom to post the utterly useless crap that you do.

And we may be a bunch of weirdos, but we do some pretty damned amazing work for the environment if I don't say so myself.

So when a person with conservative principles gets upset they're pussies, when a liberal does it it is justified moral outrage. Gotcha.

and it is the opposite on this board.

getting "very angry' over someone not standing for the POA is absolutely, without a doubt, pussy behavior.

What's weird about having a veteran lead the pledge? Our company has dozens of them. Good guys and they enjoy doing it.

Couldn’t it be just as possible he was a Jehova witness?

I can answer that for you.

Most if not all Jehovah’s Witnesses will stand for the pledge, out of respect.

They just won’t recite the pledge or any oath of loyalty to any country in any land based on their already-pledged allegiance to God

What if tmrw you're boss announces that all meetings will be started with a prayer to Allah, blessed be his name.
Would you recite the prayer out of respect for all those who believe it should be respected?
Or better example yet.
If it's ridiculous to ask if you'd recite the prayer, then would you kneel barefooted on a filthy rug on the floor facing mecca, blessed be it's name, out of a sign of respect for your boss' beliefs?

The only thing I can figure is that they've simply never spent any time in rural America. You know for a lot of folks on this board, if they don't see it on the internet, it doesn't happen.

Would love to see their faces at one of these full staff meetings right after the prayer and pledge.
