Are you referring to the handful of old star but not superstar players that no team wants to give a full max so they "just" got near max money on shorter deals? Or maybe you think KD taking a little less on a short deal to ensure another ring is a widespread thing? Because it's not. Most guys are not taking less money and after Boogie lost $50 million by being traded, I assure you that he is not going to take a paycut to play with Wall instead of AD and Rondo.
