Has it happened before? Down three touchdowns to a top 10 team and come back to win?

Sorry if this has been covered; time to read is an issue for me--but has any unranked team ever been down three touchdowns to a top 10 rated team and come back to win? It must be very rare.

Yeah. Saw it was like 270ish games ago for a top ten team +20 vs a non ranked opponent. No clue of what game though.

For LSU it is the biggest SEC comeback since at least 1949 - and we didn't win a lot of games back then where we gave up 20 points - 1946 had 3 games like that (Bama, Ole Miss and Tulane) - UGA in 1943, but I'm almost 100% certain we were never down 20 points in any of those games.
Going back to the 30s, I can't find a single candidate just by score - we only gave up 27 points in the regular season in 1937, for example (11 games). The sole loss that year? A 7-6 loss to Vandy in Nashville.
In 1933 (the first year of SEC play) - we gave up 27 points in 10 games - no losses, but 3 ties - Vandy, Centenary and Tulane.

I’m not talking about just LSU; I’m wondering about any team at any time.

ULM did it vs Arkansas in 2013

Actually 2012, but otherwise you're correct.
ULM actually scored first to make it 7-0 in the first. Arky then scored 4 touchdowns, 1 in the first, 2 in the second and 1 in the third to make it 28-7. ULM scored a TD in the third and 2 in the fourth to tie it 28-28 in regulation.
Arky kicked a FG in OT, ULM scored a TD FTMFW.
A 21 point comeback against the #8 team on the road by an unranked, Sunbelt Conference team.

I remember someone posting that Steele's defense was good for at least 20. Sure enough we did get 20 from the O against his team.

What about the Cam Newton-Bama game?

The "Cam Newton-Bama game" was 0-24 Bama, then Auburn scored a TD in the second quarter.
Final score 28-27 in favor of Auburn.

That was the twilight of a 30-40 yr period where Vanderbilt was actually one of the better teams in the South.
The game is known in Vandylore as the "Hidden Ball Play." Vandy's 7-6 win over LSU
