No, he does not. Most of his sacks are cause by him turning in a circle instead of sliding out underneath the DE circling behind him. It's like he chases his own tail when his read is not there and there is a 2 second window to bail and pick up yards. He should have had at least 1 INT as well.

Well, it can be difficult to slide up in the pocket when the interior DT's are blowing up the middle. Feel free to show us the tape from the AU game where could have stepped up into the pocket. He's not a great passers as a scrambler. No one will dispute that. But his recivers don't exactly help him in that dept either. Most just stand there.

He is a serviceable QB, but LSU will be nothing more than a 500 team with him.

No one is saying he's a HOFer, but this statement is just flat out false. He's 12-5 as a starter and 7-4 in SEC play. He's 5-2 vs ranked teams (at the time)

The idea that he makes good reads is laughable, he makes one read, then is unable to throw the ball.

Other than failing to hit Guice in the flat on a throw in the 2nd half, where was there a clear "mis-read"?

His biggest issue is his tendency to hesitate before throwing the ball. That's why most of the deep balls are under thrown. He just doesn't have the arm to make up for being off-time.

Again, no one is sitting here saying he is a Davey O'Brien award candidate. But, from the mental side he generally (not always) keeps LSU out of disastrous plays.

He does not see he field is the biggest thing I've seen with him. He appears to be a one read guy and he's done. He also has zero concept of a checkdown. Knowing your checkdown on every play makes good qb look great.

The biggest issue with Etling is that he is either late and/or inaccurate on his throws. The other issue is he fails to go through his progressions. If the primary target is not available, he is either sacked or he bails and runs.

He really needs to be more timely on his throws.
