Instead, he took offense to Herman counter-offering, and hours later offered the job to our DL coach like a whiny, petulant child.
shite, people counter offers for jobs in every industry. Its not only commonplace, but smart to do so when you have leverage like Herman did. Herman was probably dumbfounded that Alleva was offended by it.

Even if Alleva had swung for fences with Herman, rolled out the red carpet for him, gone toe-to-toe with Texas for him and lost, Alleva would have wound up looking better than he does right now.
Instead, he rolled over like a bitch and followed one awful decision with another. That isn't a mark of a competent leader, it's the mark of someone who has no idea what he's doing.

Should've went after Herman with pedal to the metal full force and sold him on LSU.
He didn't. He ran away with his tail tucked between his legs after TH started talking with Texas.
We have a real BOS/FKA problem here. It's disturbing and alarming that the "Process" (Not Nick's) which lead to his hiring (After the Duke fiasco) and continued employment is in place.
