Supreme Court throws out travel ban ruling.

So much winning.
President Trump won yet another battle when the Supreme Court late Tuesday tossed out an appeals court ruling that struck down his previous temporary travel ban targeting eight Muslim-majority nations that are known terrorist hotbeds.
Even though the ban had already expired (and been replaced by a new one), the ruling was a moral victory signifying that Trump and his administration had been within the law and the Constitution when taking action to protect America.
"In a one-page order, the court acted in one of two cases pending before the nine justices over Trump’s travel ban, a case from Maryland brought by the American Civil Liberties Union, which sued to stop the ban contained in a March executive order," Reuters reported.

Now the impeachment proceedings against the judge can begin.

Come on, man. I agree that the president has broad authority in the fields of foreign and border policy and national security. But you have to really be digging for some good news to post this.

For now, the court did not act on a separate challenge brought by the state of Hawaii, which the court had also agreed to hear. That case also features a challenge to a separate 120-day refugee ban, which has not yet expired. That case could yet be dismissed once the refugee ban expires on Oct. 24, meaning the court remains unlikely to issue a final ruling on whether the ban was lawful.

I would hope they wouldn’t waste time reviewing a ban that has already expired and been replaced with a different one.

Ha. Well props on the gif anyway.

Always took you for being one of Lebron's pimps.

I said this earlier, this is a really standard procedural action since the ban referenced in the lower court decision has expired.

'Winning' is the last term I'd use to describe a republican president that hasn't passed any legislation through a republican controlled congress in nine months...unless there are low expectations.
Winning, in my opinion, isn't firing off executive orders. They're unilateral in nature and a monkey could be trained to do it.

Leave it to the intolerant to hide behind a keyboard and vomit insults. Never surprising.

I'd say expectations are halfway to the Earth's core.

This wasn't even a close question at the time - pure ideological activism from the bench - until we start removing judges for this kind of behavior, it will continue.
There are no consequences for Article III judges to do this, either. SCOTUS should set up a board of magistrates to stovepipe these directly to a quickie per curiam when it is something that is clearly, obviously an abuse of judicial discretion.
The Constitution and enabling legislation make it clear that the President has, essentially, unlimited power to regulate immigration/visitation to this country by foreigners - period.

SCOTUS grants cert to less than 2% of cases and they certainly weren't going to waste their time hearing a case that is now moot.
If you are digging this low to find winning that's pretty telling on how you see the situation or more likely you just don't understand the Federal Court system.
