Its not like that's how it's being remembered in this narrative. The value judgements and truth of the history isn't important to what I'm talking about. I'm explaining why there is such an emotional reaction to this statue thing, because it cuts at one of the legends the culture has spun into it's identity.

Funny thing about that. Let me ask you a question:

Do you think I view you as a countryman? Someone to whom I owe the slightest iota of loyalty? Feel any kinship or sentimentality for you? View it as a duty to come to your defense, to have respect for your opinions, to give that opinion any credence?

Or expect any of that from you, or frankly care if you view me in the same manner?

Now you can slough that off if you want to. But there really aren't any ties that bind anymore.

If it makes you feel any better, Ohio can do whatever the hell it wants to. Expect the same from them though.
