I DO, however, remember the 1982 final when Italy's "Azurri" won the cup behind the dominating play of Paolo Rossi. I think he had a couple goals. One was a header. One was scored when ABC just HAD to go to commercial. No way they could broadcast for 45 minutes commercial free back then. It was very exciting and informative. I listened to most of Mexico '86 on radio! KGLA "Radio Mil" 1540 am. Then I'd go to Ryan's Irish Pub on Bourbon St. at night to watch whatever replay they had on.

It was the first World Cup I was really into. I watched the final in 1982, and knew some of the Italian and German players, and could talk about them when I visited Italy in 1984.
