In the air tonight is absolutely a hype song. It is THE hype song.

Glenn Dorsey said that was his "get in the zone" song before big games that got him pumped up. I'm serious. You would think it would have been something more up tempo. That drum fill is pretty great though...

It is played at some point between 6:30 and 7:00 at almost every high school football game. It is widely accepted as a pre game warm up song.
