The tradition is to award big boppers over singles hitters and to reward Yankees over anyone else.

However, I really don't think there's as big a pro-Yankees bias in the awards voting as there was decades ago, and some signs of anti-Yankees bias. When was the last time a Yankee won a major award that didn't deserve it? Serious question...

As a fan of both the Astros and Yankees, I really don't care which one wins, and would probably vote for Altuve myself just based on his consistency throughout the season.

since 1986 the Yankees have 2 MVPs and Astros 1.

ARod won both of those for the Yankees. I mean, he's only one of the 5 greatest players ever

when's the last time an Astro should have won the MVP but didnt?

last time a Yankee won it and didnt deserve?

How did Dallas Keuchel win the Cy Young 2 years ago?
