I'm as anti-Zero as it gets, but I understand why he would approach the negotiations the way he did. OM promised to give him the full four years to implement his program, then fired him after three. He watched Nutt go 9-4 with his recruits, and he most likely believes he would have had the same record. It's delusional, but he believes it.

Other reason he was so worried about the buyout is he just saw us fire Miles. So the bar is very, very high.

He had zero leverage. Zero.

You hand him a contract and say take it or get fricked, you binder-totin' unqualified failure.

And with all that being said, he still had zero leverage.

Sure, maybe he could've gotten another D-line position somewhere. But we still have Pete Jenkins now, so it's not like he'd have been any great loss.
