Until the attitude of the black community (and it's leaders) shifts from that of perpetual victimhood to a mindset of personal responsibility, their community will forever be afflicted by "degradation". FACT!

Most in North Baton Rouge that are employed are in the public sector - despite North Baton Rouge being home to one of the largest private sector employers in the region. Most homes there fall below the minimum value for homestead exemption so they avoid property taxes. Distressed inner city neighborhoods like North Baton Rouge consume more public safety, Medicaid, and public health funding per capita than more stable areas.

There is now a dedicated tax district for North Baton Rouge that will ultimately go to paying consultant fees and salaries for people connected to the mayor.

South Baton Rouge isn't causing the issues in North Baton Rouge. North Baton Rouge is.
