But...if nukes are off the table...you could just aggressively patrol the seas and sink any invasion fleet and shoot down any aircraft that try and land.

But you'd have to purge all these lily-livered pantywaists from the military. And take the gloves off.

We'd have to kill tens of thousands for every casualty we'd suffer.

We'd have to annihilate huge civilian centers. Be absolutely ruthless and take no quarter.

Burn the crops and fields of everywhere else. Round up immigrant insurgents and execute them.

You'd have to become a dictatorship in order to counter the propaganda, and have competent tactical leaders.

It could be done, but the price would be horrific.
