quote:No. My point is they didn't receive the same coverage, and it's not reasonable to expect them to have even close to the same coverage. The larger a massacre and the more information that is available about the murderer and the massacre itself, themore newsworthy it is. And that's because WE, inherently find it more interesting and focus more on it. The Charleston Shooting should have recieved far more coverage, but if the situations were completely flipped besides the assailant and targets, then the newsworthiness should have been flipped too.
Is your point that the two stories received the same amount of coverage from the MSM?
And like I said, our president, maybe moreso with Trump and his use of Twitter, has more influence to direct our attention to issues and stories than anyone. So while Obama focused on the Charleston shootings, Trump did make a single statement or tweet about the Nashville shooting. He did make dozens of tweets about the NFL.
And of course, as usual we've gotten multiple tweets about the fake news MSM, so not only did he not focus so much as a few second to draw attention to the shooting, he continues to try to get people to ignore the MSM who actually did provide numerous stories.
But hey, while we were worrying about the NFL, and cared for more about that than the shooting, let's become outraged because the MSM didn't write enough articles about something we apparently didn't care about. But now we care about it, when it's about the the lack of attention to it, when we gave it far less attention.
Reminds me of the leftist's lack of self-awareness and hypocrisy, who all of a sudden become outraged (like black murder) and care about an issue that they didn't give a bit of attention to before, and it's conveniently when they have a scapegoat to bolster the saliency of their virtue-signaling.

But the motive was anti-white. His victims were targeted for their race. If a white racist targeted minorities and even failed to kill any, it would still be headline news.

quote:Which is why the media reported on it, but it still doesn't change the fact that we all care more about stories when there is more destruction.
But the motive was anti-white.
quote:Your argument has gone from the MSM ignores it, and you apparently believes the misinformation, and now it's "well if a white person targeted and killed a white person, it would be headline news."
If a white racist targeted minorities and even failed to kill any, it would still be headline news.
So after drawing an incorrect conclusion, based in easily verifiable information, you're going to now draw the correct conclusion based on speculation?
But why don't you prove it? According to the FBI, 243 whites were arrested for murdering blacks in 2016.
2016 FBI Homicide data
Assuredly one of those could have been either been a hate crime or close enough for that terrible MSM to make a big deal out of. I don't remember any.
But hey a quick Google search reveals a murder of a black college student by a white college student, and the FBI is investigating it as a possible hate crime. And it's from only a few months ago.
Police, FBI investigating University of Maryland killing as possible hate crime
Maybe you remember when it was front page news, but I sure don't. Why not? You said it would be afterall. Yet again, you form a belief, and the evidence supports the opposite. So why does that keep happening, especially when it's a belief that you could at least find evidence to verify its plausibility?

Wow each entity had like two stories on it? Wasn't on the tv cycle every 20 mins or non-stop like the Dylan Roof story?
You knew what the OP meant.
So you saying the coverage of this story and the Roof story was similar?
We can't have the population thinking white people aren't the only evil out there.
Why can't you and the Op just admit that you're wrong? Everyone did a simple Google search and found everyone reported it but now you don't think they reported it enough. why even waste your time arguing that?
