You're a numbers guy eh? More people die in automobile accidents than gunshot wounds (even including suicide)

Thats true, but why change the subject?

Don't you realize how many lives you'd save if you banned all transportation over 30mph? And don't tell me we couldn't survive... We did for millenia.

Again, all true, my best answer is that we accept this as a part of every day life. There are certain ways to lower that death rate. Rational speed limits (google it), airbags, seatbelts automated cars, etc. I think everyone agrees that driving can be dangerous, yet because it is essential to our way of life to get to work, school, home, etc, no one bats an eye. Could the same be said for having or carrying a gun? Do you need one to go to work, school, home, etc, everyday? Unless youre an armed security guard or a police officer I am willing to bet that having a gun is not vital to your way of life or profession.

Eta:clarified to include having and carrying- obviously not the same.

Death is death, is it not? To feign outrage over one death while ignoring an equally deadly cause is dumb.

Essential? Cars? We got by for millenia without them. They are not essential at all. We got by without them for thousands of years.

Hell, rational speed limit should be 30. Anything above that Is a death wish.

Just like having a vehicle that exceeds going 30mph is not vital to your way of life.

Think of the children.

I think everyone can agree that the constitution doesn't have an amendment stating that citizens have a right to transportation that shall not be infringed.

Could the same be said for being a carrying a gun?

The 55,000 to 350,000 people that use them for self defense every year will probably agree. That doesn't even include all the other people that have firearms for self defense and never have to use them.
