Just a follow up on this. Someone gave me a new barrel from a newer Remington 1100 barrel from a competition model. The barrel is stamped "2.75 Target Loads Only". Does anyone know if it would be safe to shoot 2.75 steel shot duck loads out of this barrel? None of the really high FPS stuff, but maybe something that is advertised at 1250 fps?

When Winchester had to replace my barrel due to some faulty loads, I sent them the Magnum barrel that came with my gun the one they sent me back was stamped as a 2 3/4" competition. Didn't even notice it at first, because they knew it was a 3" Magnum they we're replacing. I've shot 3" duck loads out of it for two seasons now.
