Blacks are involved in crime more than their population percentage would suggest. This fact causes the police to frequently come into contact with blacks, so the black community feels that the police are targeting them unfairly.

The root cause is excessive criminal involvement by one demographic. This is the problem that must be addressed in order to improve the situation. If you don't recognize the problem you cannot fix it

The problem lies where we make this a black va white thing, or even a race thing in general.

This is squarely a socioeconomic issue. You don't see many, if at all, well to do white, black, Hispanic, (name your race) involved in police brutality, police shooting, or really any other problems.

The problem is generational poverty and hood lifestyle. Housing projects, unfortunately have a higher percentage of blacks (that's the real problem), breed a lifestyle that is confrontational and criminal in nature.

If we really want to start a conversation, you have to start with the real premise of the problem, which is not and shouldn't be race at this point.
