Is it over? Are Trumpkins allowed to watch football again?

In fairness, if this consumed his focus for the next few years, I would be the last one to complain.

Presidents address dumb shite all the time. Obama did March Madness brackets. It is to be expected.

He doesn't know enough about policy to put forth a convincing argument on healthcare. He's a rah-rah, ego guy and that's what he's going to continue to gravitate towards.
Tax reform is already being dissected and dismantled by the lobbyists and Trump isn't a strong enough tactical politician to forge a deal as leader of the party.

He doesn't need to put the argument together fully. Go to states where he needs to put the heat on senators, have rally or whatever it is he does, ???, profit. He won by getting people pissed off and convincing them that THEY could help him break the cycle.
He's still doing the same thing but instead of shite that matters, he's got them riled up over a fricking pregame ritual.
ETA: Honestly, does he need to be a policy wonk to make an argument? He's a figurehead. The masses don't give a shite about the details. O spewed all sorts of shite about ACA that has been proven bullshite and that worked.

I don't think healthcare is getting passed simply on rallies alone st this point. They don't have a cohesive plan. Any other president whose party had both houses would get a deal done behind closed doors and then go sell it to the American people. The GOP cant even coalesce around a single plan and it's Trump's job as leader of the party to make that happen. But he's a policy lightweight and thus they're going to waste all this political capital and head into the mid-terms with exactly zero legislative victories, including the one they've been promising for seven years.
Luckily for Trump the Democrats look even more inept

I can't put that all on him. The GOP has had years to come up with something. He should do something about the infighting but at the same time McConnell and Ryan knew what they were getting into when he was the nominee. "Well Trump should be the adult in the room" shouldn't be a valid excuse for a daycare, much less a GOP congress.

They're close enough where he can put it over the edge, which is probably the most they can expect for Trump. If they had a plan together at the start I guarantee he could push it through.

That's exactly where they're headed and I'm not even sure it'll work. The only thing keeping the heat off him and the GOP is the culture war shite he keeps starting.

Well we went from "if G-C comes to vote, we'll support it!" to DOA in the course of a week so....yeah?
I mean they have a majority and can't even get to a tie to have Pence push it.

So you are saying if not for the NFL tweets healthcare legislation gets through?
If it doesn't/didn't I don't think it ever was/would regardless.
We have no way of knowing that he didn't try just as hard regardless of a damn tweet. And not that I agree with the strategy but sometimes when the media kills you on an issue (like the liberal media does on healthcare) a sign that it has become a priority is when you attempt to shift media coverage while trying to push a plan through
I'm not here to argue about healthcare or political ethics, just that because he tweeted about the NFL doesn't mean he's any less involved in any other aspect

No, I'm saying he took the public's eyes off of healthcare and onto some stupid shite.
He can sell healthcare all he wants but the second he starts bitching about the NFL all that is a distant memory.

The "liberal media" has dick to do with
rallying GOP senators . Even if you say they would fight him, it's his job to fight them back for legislation. He won an election in spite of the media, he can get a legislative victory.

He can still sell healthcare all he wants to the people that will vote on it while the country is bitching about the NFL.
Having the media bitching 24/7 about healthcare while he is trying to sell it to the people who will vote on it clearly hasn't worked.
And the liberal media will always be tearing down any attempt to reduce or eliminate Obamacare, every single time, regardless of individual citizens opinion on it. Go check out the negative coverage per candidate to votes per candidate during the election season, the letter networks and the population do not share the same ratio of political leanings.

A tweet about the NFL has dick to do with rallying GOP senators too.
So once again
