Probably why their ratings have been in the tank for the last two decades.

Probably.
Last time people gave a shite about baseball was when they were juicing to video game proportions and mashing homers.

False. I don't count records aided by PEDs. That's why Bonds, McGwire, and Sosa never hit over 60 in the book of RollTide1987. It's still Roger Maris's record

Will Jose Canesco write the sequel to "Juiced" or will he let Stanton write it?

If he hasn't been juicing and he somehow gets to 62, he is the true home run king.
Sorry, but in my eyes Bonds is the homerun king until somebody breaks his record. Steroids will not allow you to hit a baseball (which takes precision, timing, hand-eye coordination, etc) any better.

Bonds could already hit a ball 500+ feet when he was a rookie (when no steroids were involved). You're either a good hitter or you're not. You either have bat speed or you don't. How will steroids (a substance that makes you PHYSICALLY stronger) help with hand-eye coordination, and hitting mechanics? The only thing I feel like it may help with is a player's health/longevity during an entire season of games.

He averaged 35 home runs per season and only hit more than 50 once, the year he broke the record. And he had 5 of his 8 40+ home run seasons after 1999. Which interestingly enough, is right around when he's suspected of starting to use steroids.

If the Tour de France can take away seven wins by Lance Armstrong years later, Major league baseball can (and should) wipe out the steroid era "records." Bonds wouldn't have gotten 40 without the juice. Maris is still the top clean player.

Think of it like track--that's the "wind-aided" non-qualifying mark.

Are we really still trying to push the player's narrative that they don't really help? I thought we moved past that propaganda.
1. If they don't help, why was "everyone" taking. We know "everyone" was taking because the players justify their use by repeating that mantra.
2. If they don't help, why aren't players consistently becoming huge power threats at the end of their careers like we were seeing during that era?
3. If they don't help, why did players bulk up like that? If you either have H-E and bat speed or you don't, why put on the 80 pounds of muscle?
4. If they don't help, why are players still getting busted for taking them? The penalties and scorn are much harsher now. Seems like a lot to go through if they don't make a difference.
5. If they don't help, why do the numbers show that players had substantial gains in home runs and other power metrics during times they were alleged to have taken steroids?
With all due respect, the idea that steroids don't help a baseball player was created by players to protect themselves and to a lesser extent the game. Nothing about that logic makes sense, especially in light of the evidence.

Bonds was always an azzhole but a great hitter ... HOF quality. However, he had only warning track power until he started juicing. He is a fraud and his greed and hubris put him out of the running for HOF just like Maguire.... and just like all the shot-put, polevault, 100m dash records, etc. Too bad.

Lance still finished 1st. The balls still went over the fence. Those things happened. You can get out your big pink eraser, or put an asterisks, or a frickimg hashtag, and nothing will change those things that actually happened.
