How long are you planning on staying? Are you just sticking to those areas? Closer to Reno is great too. If you hit those areas, there are good spots on your way back to check out.
Confused as to why you would go west of Vegas to go to Montana? I assume just to check out the National Parks there? I’d rather check out some new places along the way to Montana. Personal preference though.

Change of plans. Sequoia just isn't gonna work out this trip.
We plan on leaving McCarran and heading to Mojave to check out the joshua trees, then camping for a few days in Death Valley and hike Telescope, check out Badwater Basin, Dantes View etc and then head up 395 towards Mono Lake and the Bristlecone Forest.
Any Recs above Mono? I believe Tioga Pass will be closed for the season when we get up there so Yosemite isn't gonna work either, which is fine by me.
