Trump claims some NFL owners told him they were essentially afraid of the players and felt they couldn't do anything about protests.
But anyways, there were only about 5 players from 4 teams who had protested during the first few weeks. Those teams were: Seattle, San Francisco, Kansas City, and Oakland. So those would be the only owners who should have any current concern, and 3 of those teams are in 2 of the most left leaning areas of the country.
So the "several owners told me they are afraid" comment doesn't seem very plausible.

Are you forgetting that NFL viewership is down roughly 20% in the last 2 years, or purposefully ignoring it? Yes, the "several owners told me they were very afraid" is very plausible.
