Nobody said it did. The point is this woman who has seen more racism towards her than any of these athletes today still disagrees with their protest. Because she knows how bad it has been and how much better it is now. Is there still work to do? Of course. But in HER opinion, the protest is disrespectful.

Then why reference the military at all? Why the appeal to authority? If no one is claiming that the protesters are attacking the military, why is this woman's opinion being given any credence?
