You realize J. Landry played that position at times when he was here? The F back is a hybrid and not a typical blocking back\TE. The routes are simple and that is why they have him there. He can pick it up easier that slot or WO.

That's confusing our fans, because we've converted a bunch of cats who were/are just that - blockers (or blockers first) - there might be a subtle difference that the F-Back is more of a receiver and an H-Back is more likely to take a handoff, but, again, I wouldn't worry about any of that. F-back/H-back - for our purposes is a TE/FB/RB that lines up as a receiver, but not on the line of scrimmage - normally closer in than any traditional X, Y, or Z receiver in traditional sets, but that can change with the play and formation.
