Absolutely. But there is also a correlation between people getting probation vs prison time and race.

Women get probation 2-1 over men, including black women. So if it's purely racial, why are white men incarcerated at a much higher rate than black women?

You night have to consider criminal past, or other elements of the crime.

My guess, if you really wasn't to see inequality of the system look to the poor/rich divide instead of race.

There has been a major drop in Black folks imprisonment rate sinc 2000 while the rate for whites is increasing


The incarceration rate for white males is 465 per 100,000. Black female is 109
