I do not know what will happen next week and beyond, but the storm track will likely flatten, which should allow storms to move more directly from the Pacific Ocean into the western US, and this is what we need for snowfall in Colorado.

The storm track earlier this season has only been 'off' by a few hundred miles, thus all we need is a slight shift in the pattern and we'll be back in business with storms every few days. I think this is what will happen as we move into later next week and early January. While it's too soon to get super excited for future deep powder days, I am allowing myself to become optimistic that most of Colorado will be skiing plenty of terrain and powder by early January.
