Our composite average without Teheuma and Allen represents the average score for our current starting 5. All other teams composite average is the average for their starting 5, so transfers are accounted for.
Put not counting attrition on other teams kills your first about how well we recruited before attrition.

Well, I’m not going to research the composite ranks for every OL every team signed the last 4 years and average them out. If someone else wants to do that then go for it, but I suspect LSU would be in the top 5 and maybe top 3 if you did.

If it makes you happy, ignore our rank with Teheuma and Allen. We are still the 6th most talented OL in the conference and we look like we’re one of the worst. Our problem is not recruiting.

people are missing the forest because of the trees. lsu has AT LEAST as much talent, on paper, as bama and uga but the results are COMPLETELY different. why? coaching.

you can't nitpick about a player playing out of position and then also say that recruiting rankings for position are not always accurate. if the latter is true, it means bama and uga are dealing with the same conditions as lsu; i.e. when the kid gets on campus, we have to find out how good he actually is and where he will actually play. bama and uga are making it work at a high level. lsu is not. lsu has had players move positions on the ol before and turn out fantastic. same for bama, et al. that's not happening now.

if you want to complain about how we got here, that's on the coaches too. there's no way around it.

and then there's the eyeball test - if you can't tell that the linemen are confused and not physical, then you're just being stubborn.

this team does not look good in all 3 phases of the game against subpar competition. the last 3 years i was no miles fan but, at least his teams could "turn it on" midway through the 4th quarter. we don't even have that now.
