I think Gage is getting the "senior" pass

No pun intended.... No way this kid should be starting over drake and Stephens from what I saw on Saturday. Will be interesting to see if the coaches actually make that change going forward

Thats the nice thing about being held accountable as a coaching staff (and why I am against lavish buyouts). Keeps the best talent on the field

Plus getting rewarded for not bailing out when other receivers transferred out... but if you think about it. He basically had no other offers so he had no where else to go.... the others did!

You just don't know what you're talking about. What you've seen in games is a very small sample. perhaps the coaches are watching Gage catch everything in practice while Drake is bobbling balls that are being intercepted.
One thing we know for sure is that DRAKE DOESN'T KNOW THE PLAYS! How do we know? DRAKE SAID SO. Don't you think that could be a factor? And I seriously doubt that Jacoby Stephens understands much of the offense since he has only been working there about two months.
When the season started Dillon was ahead of Drake and Sullivan. In the Syracuse game each of them got more plays than Dillon. As these talented kids learn more, and prove they can secure the ball, they will get more time.

LSU has played four games and has had an offseason before that with Canada. If guys don't know the plays by now, that's on Canada. Like Hanagriff paraphrased Saban as saying "Teach him one play. Make him learn that. Then teach him another." Get the best players on the field.

We don't see practice so how do you know gage is catching everything. Plus the practices are soft.. all I can go by is what I saw on Saturday and the previous games. Last Saturday was impressive for drake and Stephens.

Russ is a baller. Just needs more opportunities. What exactly did he do so bad against Syracuse that makes you think he shouldn't play?

based on what? His long history of making plays here?

other wide outs are obviously better

One drop and all of a sudden he doesn't deserve to be out there. Talk to anybody in that receiver room and they will tell you he's the best athlete and route runner out that bunch. He'll be fine.

that's not what I said, but he's done basically nothing his entire career yet he's a baller?

I think the early part of this season you have to go with experience. Maybe the younger receivers are coming along and may see them more as we did Saturday night.

Hanny cited the wrong coach. It was Spurrier that said that.
I'm sure multiple coaches have said that over time but the most famous is spurrier in the late 90's.

Actually, it was Saban talking to Jimbo about Skyler Green. They taught him a quick slant play that went for a TD.
