Scouts are watching, and they can't be impressed at all by what Key has shown so far this year. I believe his stock has fallen at least 50% or more.
That's why it would have been a terrible idea for him to try to go pro. He is badly out of shape and obviously needs time to get back into the mode of playing football. At LSU, he'll get the chance to do that. In the NFL, he wouldn't have had that luxury.
