US lags in United Nations support

The US contributes 0.2% of its GNP to the United Nations compared to 0.5% average contribution of all countries.

22% of the UN regular budget and 27% of the UN peacekeeping budget is funded by the American taxpayer.

The US pays ~22% of the UN budget.

The second is ~10% by Japan, I think.

We should be paying less.

As a matter of fact, all countries should pay the exact same.

Out of the 193 countries part of the UN, the top 20 countries contribute 83.78% while the other 173 countries contribute 16.22% only.

The top 10 contributors account for 68.89% of the total contributions. The total regular UN budget for the year 2016-17 is $ 5.6 billion.

The US contributes 22% overall.
As much as the next 3 highest contributors combined...
Namely Japan 9%, China 8%, Germany 6%
