No LSU is not the law. But we are both preparing these kids for the future and keeping up with NCAA regulations.
Do you have a job, do you get drug tested? Chances are if you work in the corporate world, the answer is yes. And it doesn't matter if the state you live in has legalized marijuana or not. If you work for a corporation and live in Denver, you are upheld to the same standards the rest of the country is. You fail the test, you get fired, legal or not.
Let's not forget that these are kids and we are not JUST trying to win football games.
Yes we are aware private companies can drug test. We are aware that college football programs can drug test. The question is, should LSU football? The answer is no. It doesn't matter if the corporate world in Denver drug tests. It matters what other college programs are doing and it matters what is mandatory for LSU to do. If LSU is not compelled by the NCAA to test for pot, then it's only hurting itself. College football programs aren't responsible for preparing players for life in the corporate world. If they want to do that, they can, but it won't help the team in any meaningful way.

Yes, we want em high, chilled out, slow thinking and unable to quickly process information and their assignments during a game.
I'd assume a stoned player would be benched just like a drunk/hungover one.

The entire student body isn't in the national spotlight representing LSU.
There wouldn't be a spotlight if the school didn't shine it with suspensions.
It's an issue because folks like you want it to be.

If you were an lsu football player would you need to smoke weed?
Nope me neither.
But I really know the value of the experience and not some fricktard wanna be.

With LSU AG about to start growing it, I guess you could just put all those problems players in horticulture, then blame the air. Problem solved

This what people, in their zeal to defend this, don't seem to want to understand.
Alcohol is legal as frick. But if I get hit with a random breathalyzer test (and that's often part and parcel of a piss test) and I have bourbon on my breath, there's no way I can expect to keep my job.

Here's the facts. It is illegal. Period. Can they play after committing other crimes? No. There's your answer.

How do you know they are smoking it vs using topical THC lotions to address pain cuz ibuprofen tears up their kidneys? There are excellent medicinal purposes for some applications of THC that's illegal in many states because Big Pharma owns the law makers.

penalty for positive marijuana test
It's fricking stupid for marijuana to be a banned substance for football. The only justification for banning any substance in athletes is if it is a performance-enhancing drug that gives the player a competitive advantage. Marijuana does absolutely nothing to improve football performance, so it should be irrelevant.

Good thing these 2 are the same.

I mean in a sense of the sport being broadcasted nationally, not the suspensions.
I never said I want it to be the rule but as long as it is, players should follow it. Simple as that.

Here's the facts. It is illegal. Period.
There's no logical support for alcohol over mj if looked at objectively.
