Alabama Commerce Secretary Greg Canfield said that while the specific details of the state's incentive package for Mercedes-Benz agreeing to build in Alabama are still being negotiated, because the timetable and scope of the project is still being determined, this is a huge boost for the state which is growing at a record pace as an industry leader.

He said the package will include statutory incentives, performance-based incentives, statutory tax abatements and tax credits.

So you're worried about Alabama taxes?

It is definitely localized. There has been no indication of any federal incentive or subsidy. I expect the deal will resemble the package that initially lured them to the state.

I'm not "worried" about any taxes. But for the record, the electric vehicles will qualify for federal electric vehicle tax credits for the end consumer, which does benefit Mercedes.

I'm just pointing out that Mercedes is getting the same deals as Tesla, but you guys selectively criticize on this board. The rules change depending on who's getting the benefits.
