It used to, at least in LA. If a company didn’t have a physical presence they were not obligated to collect sales tax and remit to the state. Now residents of the state were still obligeated legally to claim those taxes owed on their tax return, but we all know how that plays out.

I was just going by what was said. However, I see they started charging sales tax in every state that has one starting in March. Not sure why it was stated that this was a reason for the change.
