If you're beginning from a premise that Orgeron is a good coach, then yes it's totally reasonable to not jump the gun.

Problem is, I don't know what you could point to that would indicate he's ever been a good coach. It's if people are willfully ignoring empirical evidence and you're continuing to for some inexplicable reason.

I could see before this game but losing like this should've been the last straw. He has done nothing to earn the benefit of the doubt beyond this point.

All O this. Pun Intended.

Waaaay too early to jump ship. Let's see how O rallies the players these next two games. I was shocked, just like you, by how crappy we played...I realize the offense is still a work in progress with our new OC, but I was floored how bad Aranda's defense played. Regardless, O isn't being fired after this season so please don't waste your time worrying about his buyout.

I wouldn't disagree that some consideration is needed. The problem is we are in an absolutely terrible spot, outside of O being wildly successful.

Even if O were to be terrible, like 3-9 terrible, we literally shouldn't fire him purely for optics purposes, not even thinking about the buyout. The kind of coach O is the way he was hired.....people are treating O like an actual Head Coach, and an actual Good Hire, where he isn't one. His leash should be short, but optically, it can't be. We can maybe look at firing him after year 2 at best.

If O is mediocre, he's probably here for 3 seasons....and 3 seasons of mediocrity, and possibly more.

But that doesn't mean I want to stop talking about how terrible of a hire and coach he seems to be unless he proves that wrong. See above - He has to be wildly successful, and the MSU game a fluke, or there are huge problems ahead.
