re: LSU needs quality OL/DL STAT

Dude this can be fixed in a couple of weeks. They didn't play like this against BYU or we would have lost that game as well.

Most importantly we need to cut the penalties out, then play smart, and physical, with great technique. Once the DL depth comes back, talking about Herron, Lawrence, and Alexander we will be better up front.

Canada should have taken advantage of the middle of the field right behind the linebackers with quick passes, screens, ect. The play calling needs have more creativity. When you bust 2 or 3 big runs for first downs, in the SEC with a new set of downs you don't run on first down, you run PA with short throws to your backs or TEs, FBs ect.

Once we get going on the drive with power runs and short throws mixed, then you start hitting throws a little further down field, and over the middle. Canada MUST make Etling look for different WRs when the pressure is on besides Chark. The WRs coach has to teach these guys to read the defense and if they see pressure is coming or that the DL is putting pressure on the OL, then they have to get their damn heads around quickly and Etling needs to be able to call out hot reads for more quick hitting throws.

I don't remember and didn't look at a replay to know if State was getting pressure with just 4 or if they brought pressure but if it was just 4 then the OL has to step up and stop that. No other way around that. You have to make a team come with more players so you can take advantage of that. If their is nothing we can do about it and our OL sucks then Canada needs to game plan for that. Get the DL and LBrs going one way and make sure Etling runs the fake good enough to have a guy on the other side open.

They just need to slow things down on offense, play smarter and learn how to set up the defense with your body language. I didn't see any screens or backside screens where you fake the screen one way and have your TEs and WRs blocking for you on the other side. There were so many different things we could and should have done. After your successful with a play, you use that play to fool the defense and have players run down field for bigger plays. They just weren't on their A game and Canada has to know that these defense's are fast and sound defense's he's going to face so the game plan has to be more creative then what we saw. Penalties really hurt us as well and stopped our continuity on offense so that could have played a part but there were still things we could have done that wasn't done. I've seen Canada call much better games. I'm not sure if he's just not confident in the players but if so he better start showing confidence in more players.

Those big WRs are a huge mismatch to most teams throw the ball up high and let them go get it. Gotta show some balls and run Guice efficiently. Gotta work on everything in the next couple of games so I would run uptempo and score as many points as I could to get as many reps as possible.
