I work in downtown Shreveport. I forget the day, but it's something like the first Monday of each month when disability checks go out. There is always a long line at every bank with the same old routine for 95% of the "customers".

They want to cash their check.
They don't have an account.
Sign this document.
Fingerprint this document.
Clerk counts out a couple hundred bucks.
They walk out the door and head straight towards the casino a few blocks away.

Sad!

When I lived in Shreveport, the casinos were always packed on the days that checks went out.
