My wife and I will likely be buying a new VW Atlas later this year. Anyone have one and care to share their thoughts?

yeah, i just noticed they released this mid-size suv. i'd be curious to hear some feedback on it too.

i currently have an outback, but the transmission failed at 65k, so i'm a little put off on the brand you could say. of course i'm the only person i know with a subaru that has had a bad experience. (full disclosure, i'm cursed) either way i think i want a larger vehicle than the outback, and the atlas popped up in my search. i've just never owned a vw, and after their scandal i'm hesitant. but they do offer one of the better warranties, bumper to bumper 6 years 72k mi i think. i've been reading reviews, and it's getting pretty decent ones. most common complaints have been styling (which i actually kind of like), sort of boring handling (to be expected with the size imo), below average fuel economy, some cheap plastic interiors. none of those are deal breakers for me, but i also don't like going with a new model in its first year. ideally i'd like to give them a couple years to work out any kinks they might have.
