Having read the book twice, I have mixed feelings. Thought Pennywise was well done overall. There were a lot of deviations from the book, including sequence in some cases, but I guess I can understand considering limiting time of a movie.

Didn't like the ending. Only hint of the deadlights was the brief look down the throat of Pennywise that put Bev out. No turtle, no cosmic journey that really gives insight into what IT really is. Could have stressed the eternal nature of IT more, instead of just making it a scary clown.

SO glad they left out any hint of the gangbang scene. That would have completely ruined the movie.

Just some quick, fresh from the theater thoughts.

I thought the movie IT was great. Obviously there are going to be changes from the source material, but the director made a lot of effort to stay in line with modern updates. Derry was exceptionally recreated--I was especially excited to see the Paul Bunyan statue, but they missed on 29 Neibolt St. I wish they kept closer to the novel on that location.

The chemistry between the Losers was crucial and it made the movie. Richie was hilarious. Bill's stutter was well done (TV series Bill was terrible ). Pennywise was awesome: his delivery and laugh. So creepy.

Yeah...I'm holding out hope that they wanted to keep this as a surprise for Part Two. They did reference the turtle in the swimming scene, but with them excluding the clubhouse and the ritual of Chüd, I'm doubtful the cosmic journey will be in the next movie. Sucks. It would have been so awesome to watch the smoke-hole scene and see the origins of IT on the big screen.
