Yeah frick all those millions of dollars that could be made from a harmless plant to grow the economy!!!

I rarely find myself disagreeing with your angles. And I don't necessarily here either BUT... I think having a super strong opinion about this one way or another is hasty. It isn't as simple as a harmless plant and pot smokers getting legal weed and tax dollars. A gigantic amount of stuff changes when you decriminalize and/or legalize something like this, but particularly legalizing it.

Let it continue in Oregon/Colorado/California. Let the long-term-everything happen there first. Give it another 10-20 years and rehash (pun intended) the results and make a fully educated course of action.

Why just 10-20? Why not just make it 30-40 years to get more "fully educated"?

You either believe in freedom and whether or not weed is harmless or you don't.

I don't believe in setting arbitrary time frames to work out social policy as its a straightforward yes or no.

I am 100% for legalization - be it medical or recreational, but I would prefer medical. With that being said, I think this is the most well-thought out argument thus far. The contingencies of just legalizing are huge. Tons of police will lose their jobs (which isnt a bad thing, it would take a load off the budget to be used in other areas). Oversight/Compliance would have to be thoroughly thought out and planned - which would not be cheap or quick.

I think there are legitimate arguments for legalization and the benefits of THC, and more so, CBD. The war on drugs is a complete failure and a money pit, and I can even slightly buy into the conspiracy that pharma holds it back. With that being said, it is not as easy as people think, and it does need to be looked into more before a roll out occurs. Treaties will have to be altered in order for it to happen federally, and I dont see that happening in the near future. I do think a good, realistic, start would be to begin downgrading the schedule of marijuana - Hell, FENTANYL is scheduled lower than MJ. That is unbelievable
