Alternative to Amazon TV?

I am looking to buy something as powerful and easy to use as a Amazon fire tv. I have one already and it runs really smooth. My 3 year old has a fire stick but it seems to have more hang ups. I have tried removing all the stuff and reinstalled but it's still slow. Any thoughts?

What applications are you looking to use? You just want something more affordable than a Fire TV?

Well I found the fire tv is out of stock and was hoping to have it up and running this weekend. Netflix, PSVue, Amazon Prime, Kodi, and maybe some games for toddlers.

Roku would run all of that fine, but no Kodi. Also, the PSVue interface isn't as good as Fire TV...or wasn't several months ago when I tried it.

Hey it's a life saver in the morning get him dressed turn on PBS kids and I can get ready in peace. He also loves freaking Barney and prefer to run Barney on one tv and espn on silent on another.

I was just messing with you.
Hopefully, they won't have a smartphone by the age of 5.

kids don't need kodi.
my kid that will turn 4 can operate the Roku without any help.
I took youtube off of it so he'd quit watching creepy videos of adults dressed as superheros doing weird shite, or kids making videos that have idiots for parents allowing them to act like inappropriate idiots. Really wish youtube would allow me to block certain things.
anyways, you can download apps of toy reviews and other retarded videos that kids love for some reason, and know they aren't going to see a video that isn't appropriate for them.
On top of that you have every app there is like PBS, DisneyJr, NickJr, Boomerang, etc. And it's 10 times easier to work with than the firetv.

I have a Roku Premiere thats like a month old. I ditched cutting the cord and am using my old Apple TV 3 for smaller things.
If you're interested in getting it, I can sell it to you for half the price new.
