Ramos asked then President Obama:
Mr. President, my question will be as follows: With an executive order, could you be able to stop deportations of the students? And if that’s so, that links to another of the questions that we have received through univision.com. We have received hundreds, thousand, all related to immigration and the students. Kay Tomar (ph) through univision.com told us — I’m reading — “What if at least you grant temporary protective status, TPS, to undocumented students? If the answer is yes, when? And if no, why not?”
Obama replied:
“With respect to the notion that I can just suspend deportations through executive order, that’s just not the case because there are laws on the books that Congress has passed, and I know that everybody here at Bell is studying hard, so you know that we have three branches of government. Congress passes the law, the Executive branch’s job is to enforce and implement those laws, and then the Judiciary has to interpret the laws, there are enough laws on the books by Congress that are very clear in terms of how we have to enforce our immigration system, that for me to simply, through Executive Order, ignore those Congressional mandates would not conform with my appropriate role as president.”

You really need to quit living in the past. I think even your fellow nutjobs on here are sick of your schtick.

It's. It the past if the WO he enacted is the hot topic of the day. Come on, man. At least try to not be disingenuous

Well said. This is English, right?

Good lord. It was supposed to say not. I fat fingered it or the phone auto corrected. You knew what it was supposed to say. Again proving how disingenuous you are

I'll admit to getting tired of his posts fairly often.
But this is something worth remembering and is particularly relevant to today's current debate. Not at all something worth resorting to personal attacks over.

So you are a strong advocate of obeying the Constitution? Then you must have been appalled and angered when Trump pardoned Arpaio who was found in criminal contempt for denying people their Constitutional rights. Apparently Trump is not much of a fan of defending the Constitution from all enemies, foreign and domestic, even though he swore to do that in his oath of office.

Don't even go there, you don't even believe that little speech you just gave. Did you say anything when Clinton pardoned Marc Rich? How about when Obama helped out his drug dealer buddies?

What a joke. He never recognized the three branches of governement. He wasn't constitutionally qualified (based on his actions) to teach a middle school civics class

I did. But still a good question needs to be asked here; relevance?

The fricking relevance is that idiots are upset that Trump is ending an EO that Obama issued even though on several occasions prior he had said "I can't do that with an EO"

So what is the statute of limitations on being a bald faced liar?
What a stupid premise

Complains that Trump violates Constitution. Proceeds to equate that to a Constitutional right of the Presidency that was exercised by Trump.

Pardons stemming from political witch hunts is a perfectly reasonable application of presidential pardon authority.
I don't know why people didn't go after Arpairo for his alleged corruption. That's something he seems actually guilty of.

Stop watching CNN, they've turned your brain to mush. The President's pardoning powers are unchallenged. He (or she) can pardon any person of ANY federal crime without explanation. Now you can legitimately have a problem with the overall concept of a Presidential pardon, that's fine, but only a fricking moron claims that a Presidential pardon was unconstitutional. There are ZERO limits put on his power. Federal crime, POTUS can pardon PERIOD.

No. It was another case of the Executive overreaching.
When Trump uses the executive to go against the constitution or require people to not follow the constitution... then you will have a case to be made.
