My beef is with fans who refuse to acknowledge that he's done a good job. I mean, don't we want a coach who is doing a good job? Won't having a coach who is doing a good job attract the kind of recruits we all want to come to LSU? If you answer yes to both, yet refuse to acknowledge that O is doing a good job thus far, what exactly are you trying to do?

Why are you so consumed with getting fans to see things your way one game into the season? We don't know anything now. I'd at least wait until we play someone with a pulse.

Yeah if he'd stunk up the joint vs BYU his critics would've been out in full force. Such is the burden of being a head coach in major college football. All of them are under the same type of scrutiny.

Also, he doesn't need to be patted on the back for not stinking up the joint vs BYU. We're LSU, they're BYU. We were supposed to look dominant. You don't get credit for what you're supposed to do, taking from the Chris Rock bit.

There are plenty of skeptics out there on O and that's fine. The best thing for LSU is for O to prove the skeptics wrong, which won't happen overnight. But my god, give the man a chance and acknowledge that he has done well thus far

Don't know what "give him a chance" means. I have no bearing on whether or not he gets a chance. He's the coach, he's acquired his chance. And if he produces results I'll acknowledge that.

Just to be clear what I want people to see my way: I am not asking people to (as LosTigres described it) break out the knee pads for O. I do want people who profess to be LSU fans to do is to stop the constant belittling of O and quit looking for reasons why he shouldn't be given any credit for the program's success. My initial post in this thread was in response to a poster pissing on every accomplishment listed in the op as either unimpressive or O get "zero credit." See other threads like the one called "Big difference between O and Miles" where a guy is lambasting him as a fraud. Seriously, WTF with some fans?

I don't know if O was the right hire or not. I wasn't a huge fan of the hire last November. But now that it is done, he's the coach and I'm supporting him. I'm not looking for reasons to validate my initial skepticism. I'm looking for reasons why my initial skepticism was wrong. He's doing a good job so far in my book. Even if you are incapable of agreeing with that, he is not doing a bad job.
