This isnt about Miles. Im all for Coach O. If hes not ready at this point in his career and with being handed this gold mine, then he'll never be ready. Lets just keep in mind, he inherited one of the all time great gigs in the history of the sport. And if you cant understand that, oh well thats your issue.

He went 6-2. When has that been great? 4-2 in conference. Scored 10 points in 2 HOME SEC losses. Only the Sugar Bowl at risk against Florida, a 2 TD favorite at HOME! And loses.
This is great? And he gets an A across the board from the original OP and the proof is in the pudding? Please...

Some of you want to give him credit for everything that happened good and no responsibility for anything that happened bad. Its like he took over at Ole fricking Miss and went 6-2 and kept all the recruits. Be a pumper. Thats your choice.

What did you expect? When he took the job, that all the players and coaches were going to lay down on him?

That he would lose all the recruits that he was the recruiting coordinator for and half of the games against one of the easiest SEC schedule in recent memory with a loaded roster full of NFl draft picks?

What 3 first rounders last yr probably 3 more this yr and 2 Sr ILB's.

Oh I forgot he beat BYU.

He was already on the staff had inside knowledge of the entire program including coaches and players. He took over a loaded roster and had the schedule of:

Missouri (4-8) In B. R.
Southern Miss (7-6) in B.R.
Mississippi (5-7) in B.R.
Alabama (14-1)shut out in B.R.
Arkansas (7-6) away
Florida (9-4) in B.R.
Texas A&M ( 8-5 ) away and had just lost the last 2 SEC games to Ole Miss and Miss St.

If you dont think there are 50 coaches that were already on the staff with last years team couldve went 6-2 against that schedule fine, Have it your way. Pump the fuk away.

You're killing it man. It's like i dont even need to post anything else.

ETA - I actually liked the progress/efficiency we played with Saturday.

I'm not ready to give Canada an A based on one game where we really didnt do anything special. I'm still of the opinion that we've built him up based on his 1 season at Pitt (which was really good). But no one is looking at his last 11 years as an OC.

And some do precisely the opposite.

You make some valid points. This is not personal about you.

My beef is with fans who refuse to acknowledge that he's done a good job. I mean, don't we want a coach who is doing a good job? Won't having a coach who is doing a good job attract the kind of recruits we all want to come to LSU? If you answer yes to both, yet refuse to acknowledge that O is doing a good job thus far, what exactly are you trying to do?

There are plenty of skeptics out there on O and that's fine. The best thing for LSU is for O to prove the skeptics wrong, which won't happen overnight. But my god, give the man a chance and acknowledge that he has done well thus far. You don't need to be a "pumper" but we really don't need a bunch of fans dissing the coach for what each passing day seems to suggest is their disappointment in the decision to hire him.

O should and does have a short leash. But let's get behind him and give him that leash.
