yeah when i saw his junior highlights i didn't think he was as fast as reported b/c i thought it was your typical "smaller school games with 1 4.5 kid" situations but i was wrong. his senior year highlights were amazing. i can't believe we slowplayed this kid hoping to get a national recruit we were unlikely to get

I didn't follow recruiting at all this past year. Who was the RB that LSU went for instead?

He's Clemson's 4th string RB and already has 14 carries for 180 yards and 2 TD's in 2 games. You could tell right before he got that carry in that snap that Fowler and Herbie were waiting for him to do something big...and then Herbie explains why - Clemson OC told them that Etienne had made numerous big runs against clemson's first string defense in practice. Looks like he will be a stud for Clemson in a year or two when he moves up the depth chart.

He's borderline reaching God-like status in the Clemson fanbase. All of the defenders can't stop talking about him, and insiders who have been to practice say he's the best RB we've had since Spiller.
I expect him to be at worst second on the depth chart by the end of the season. He gets better every game, and his touches are only dependent on his ability to continue picking up the offense.
This dude is unreal.

Idk what kind of competition he played in high school or if he should have been ranked higher in the recruiting rankings but the coaches were saying he was housing 80 yard runs against the 1st string defense in fall camp

23 attempts for 292 yards, 12.7 YPC and 4 TDs. Long of 81 yards to go with a 50 yarder.
Etienne's favorite players are LF and Guice and he was pulling for Guice to win the heisman. While he said the "right things" to the Clemson press, sounds like he really likes LSU and probably would have been LSU's had LSU really went hard for him. LSU really missed out on this kid.
