The article said she consulted with hospital admin. They cant stop the LEO from being foolish though...

Watch the video. Hospital admin told the cop he's making a big mistake and then he freaked out. They also said admin was on it's way.

the Officer on Duty at the Hospital should have arrested the detective. The guys who are stationed there are well versed in the rules and regs about all that.

yeah and got shot at, no thanks. cop's voice was clearly panicked, no telling what he would've done.

Yes, they were probably quick to repeat their policy to cover their arse, but acted defenseless when they saw the employee actually upholding the policy being taken away.
