The Orgeron hiring decision seems to be based on the notion, never tested to my knowledge, that if your Coordinators are good enough, your HC need not be qualified. This theory strongly underestimates the role of the HC in organizing and managing a coherent, sustainable and successful program. DaCoachO has never succeeded in this, but the plan seems to be to "hope" he will.

It's a nice idea in theory. And it will work fine when things are going well.

I think in practice though, when things don't go exactly according to plan and blame has to be assigned, O will find the finger pointed at him.

And how is he to influence change if he has no say in strategy? This is where the plan all falls apart.

Those who think Alleva's biggest error was the decision to hire The Orgeron haven't taken the time to carefully read the contract terms that Alleva approved for that hire and the termination/ buyout clauses. The contact was at least as much AD malpractice as the hiring decision itself (yes, I know these are closely related issues)
