Seems many of you are struggling with this.
This is the third thread tonight I've seen with this asinine observation. Is this part of the playbook? Fine, if I concede the "1A" only restrains Congress (the federal government) from making a law respecting the right of the people peaceably to assemble (and ignore the amendment is incorporated to the states through the 5th Amendment), will you concede that a citizen's right to smother lawful speech through coercive force is restricted by, you know, statute in all 50 states and by the US Code, that EVERY jurisdiction in the United States, and the United States itself, has a statute not only restricting that right but, in fact, prohibiting battery and assault (the immediate apprehension of a battery) if willful and knowing.
TL;DR Your point is not nearly as profound as you think it is.
