If 1 loss Miami isn't jumped in the last week of the season by a 1 loss Florida State team (that one loss was to Miami), I believe they could have beat Oklahoma. That would have meant 5 straight coaches adding Butch Davis to the list and connecting Coker.

Nope, close but not quite Parseghian, Devine, and Holtz is who you are probably thinking of, but there was a coach between Devine and Holtz, Gerry Faust who did not win.
Michigan did, however, back in the 30s and 40s with Harry Kipke, Fritz Crisler, and Bennie Oosterbaan. That last one was in 48. Interestingly, Michigan has only won 1 other since then and that was under Lloyd Carr, not Bo Schembechler. Bo Schembechler never won a national championship.
