To be fair... We've had a new OC every other year. Fournette was a heavier heisman favorite last year. Beckwith was farther along last year than White this year. This is our worst Oline, WR, and secondary we've had in a while on paper. Maybe I need to change my meds
If you aren't excited about what White brings to the middle of the D then you didn't watch the last half of the season. Fournette was hurt going into the opener last year and even though he had a great season, he was never fully healthy. Guice is and he's a more versatile player vs Fournette's downhill style. Succeed or fail, we've never had an OC like Canada. He took a less talented team and scored over 40 in wins against national champ Clemson and Rose Bowl team Penn St.
The OL is good but not deep. Certainly a concern. WRs are inexperienced, but talented. They are being coached better and being given a scheme to create separation. We've had very talented WRs the last 2 years, but how often did you see them get significant separation?
No one knows how the season will play out, but if you're not optimistic, I think it's willful pessimism.
