I take this to mean that we bring manufacturing jobs back. That we move back to a time when we didn't identify as select groups, but as Americans first and foremost. That we don't practice divide and conquer in politics or anything else.

Because as Americans, we enjoy that freedom. Freedom is the ability to express your opinion and allow others to express their opinions whether you agree with them or not.

Why does any one group get to determine what others find important in their history? How do you know the men were racist? You are looking at history through a contemporary lens and failing to see that things were different then. It doesn't make slavery right, but it doesn't make it wrong then.
