While I think that Kovacic did a more than serviceable job filling in for Modric today....the hold up play in the midfield is damn near flawless most of the time when he is in. He and Kroos hardly ever mistime a pass when they are on. The chemistry between those two is insane if you really watch their play together.
Madrid looked good today but there were times when you could see that the midfield hold up was a bit disjointed without Modric.
Asensio is going to be the truth when his time comes to be in the 1st choice 11....I just hope he sticks around to see that happen...similar to what Isco has done.
